Beef stew and dumplings. Schwartz do some packet mixes for using in slow cookers the beef and tomato stew is nice but my favourite is the chicken and potato curry |

I do nearly all my roasts in slow cooker - gammon with raw shallots, sliced carrots in a mix of apple juice and water - lamb or beef in stock with sliced carrots, browning the meat and shallots.
I also use it with a jar of tagine paste, normally using diced beef, a bit of stock and tomato passata, onion, and dried apricots to cook it slower. My 2 fave chicken slow cook recipes are chicken with leek, bacon cooked in stock and apple juice, wth thyme. makes it quite bbq like. also chicken fricassee with a wine and flour sauce, and shallots. I use thighs or legs for both the chicken recipes. Love my slow cooker! |

It's getting to that time of year now where mine will e coming out... I love doing a whole joint or chicken it...
I also like doing chicken breast, diced onion, garlic powder/flakes or crushed cloves and tin tomatoes with herbs... I sprinkle some extra Italian herbs in too. Serve with rice, Quinta or mash... Obviously a Lancashire hot pot is great I there too (Lancashire Lass) |
