If you you look at my thread further down the page, 'Sequoia Lodge Suite', we received an upgrade last week. I had only asked if they had a room with a balcony as we were celebrating a big birthday and so getting a suite was a big surprise. I knew that the hotel was busy, so I knew that we would be extremely lucky just to get a balcony.

Oh wow - I'll take a look, that's amazing! well done you, we are celebrating a big birthday too so am wondering if we will be lucky seeing as it should be quite quiet. Did you email them or request on the day?

Who did you email? I looked on the website and cannot really come up with anything. We're going in November to celebrate our 14th anniversary. I've never left the US before so this is an extra special trip.
