Would be a solo trip from me as well. Do what you want, when you want, meet as many people as you like. There is night life on the Boardwalk, Disney Springs and Universal. You could meet someone and end up living in America! Who knows, go and dont miss the opportunity,

Sorry to hear this, have you split in good terms? Could you travel together as friends? My friend did this with her husband and because they was no longer 'together' they had a great time as just mates.
Or could you offer the other place to a friend for a discounted price or your ex take a friend?

Years ago when I split from my partner I took my mum with me ... had some fun times and also some sad reflective times but glad I did it...

How are you getting on OP?

On the flip side, me and an ex broke up shortly before a holiday, we got back together and to be truthful it was mainly due to the holiday. We enjoyed a very miserable 2 weeks together, so miserable that I was unsure of whether i'd ever bother going back to Florida again.

I'm not sure travel insurance covers breakups, so if i was you, i'd go alone, you're on site so don't have to worry about driving yourself around. Have an amazing time.

I have done sols and enjoyed it. I would suggest you take advantage of the 'time out' and think about yourself. At Diney there are always people and families to talk to. You know what will suit you best

I don't want to sound insensitive, but the holiday is booked for both of you.
The question is, what is your ex's plans. You both have tickets, is he wanting to go solo as well. If you went solo, does he want his half of the hotel costs. Maybe one of you will buy the other person out and take a family member or friend. Changing the ticket name maybe a cheaper option.
People have said go solo, but I wouldn't recommend it after only just breaking up.
