Exactly what we're doing, staying first 9 nights onsite so using DME in from airport. Car booked through Alamo Brits after a week, collect from DCCC. Obviously we'll concentrate on Disney first week, so happy to use their transport for a chance to relax. Then last seven days off site, so car useful for Universal, Seaworld and shopping, dropping off at MCO on way home.

When we stay onsite at Disney we usually book a car for a week in the middle of our trip- tend to find that 5 days costs the same as a week- for trips to outlets, Walmart, Cheesecake Factory! Otherwise we use the Disney transport and Magical Express to and from the airport. We collect and drop off our car at the car care centre, they send a shuttle to collect you from your resort and drop you back too.
