Alamo have charged for toll we paid
Alamo have charged our credit card $4.55 for a toll. We paid each and every toll - including a very expensive Florida turnpike on our way to Miami. Has anyone else had this? We don't know where the toll was as Alamo haven't contacted us and it's really not worth us pursuing for a few pounds but it's a lot of money if they do it to everyone!

Hire suppliers must supply the Sunpass photo's proving it was the vehicle hired to you that violated the toll, if they can't and don't refund, pass it to your cc company. It's a regular, questionable, occurrence that will continue until the hirer demands proof and takes them to task.

Avis charged us $20.25. I posted on here the other day. This was $19.75 admin charge plus 50 cents for one toll. We'd paid cash for this toll and because we'd had issue previously with another toll on the 429 I took photos. I've not heard back from avis yet but did email the people who run the toll roads and they have agreed to refund. I've not received this yet. I definitely think my photos helped my case and would recommend filming/taking photos when going through tolls.

Just email them and ask for the photographic evidence - they should then refund you the money

I am sure there are cashless tolls in Miami - where you have no option to pay cash.
see below - info found on visit florida. Areas that don’t accept cash: The Miami section of the Turnpike and the following locations don’t accept cash: Mid Bay Connector (Destin); Veterans Expressway (Tampa); Selman Expressway (Tampa); and Sawgrass Expressway (Ft. Lauderdale). Hollywood Boulevard (Exit 49) and Griffin Road (Exit 53) in Broward County are also now all electronic. So you need to use SunPass or Toll-By-Plate. Edited at 09:17 PM. |

We used our sat nav to avoid the tolls in Miami so I'd be surprised if we used a toll road without noticing but it is possible.

Take a look on htallc/Alamo/
If you could let us know the toll location we might be able to tell you if its cashless toll... many in Miami are so you may not have even noticed it. Edited at 10:40 PM. |

But they won't do it to everyone. Just ask for location and photo evedence and two things will happen.
You will realise that maybe you did miss a toll, or they can't provide photo evedence and they will credit you. My bet is that they will have the photo as that is what they get billed from the toll authorities with.. Without that there will be nothing to trigger an invoice to you. It looks like a 60 cent toll fee plus $3.95 admin fee. |

The only way you will know is if you ask them. The likelihood is it's a cashless toll near Miami airport, there are a few and you can't avoid them if you follow a sat nav. They aren't well sign posted but the are there, they bill by number plate and Alamo will add a service charge if you don't have sunpass
