Dvc discount in parks

Hi all,

Out here at the moment

When the DVC discount says Disney owned and operated stores, what exactly is included with that.

Obviously it includes the main park shops but what about kiosks and like snack places at epcot, water, cokes and quick service food?

Wayne there doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it - Earl of sandwich yes, Starbucks no. If they do discount , they are supposed to ask but again found that hit & miss.

I just ask everywhere - if they don't then I just carry on. If they do give discount then it's cheaper - no cost to ask

We did the same. Just asked everywhere we bought anything 😀. By the end of 3 weeks I still couldn't work out any easy rules around it! Saved a fortune though on merchandise and food with the discount this year.

If its Disney owned such as World of Disney / Emporium etc then you get it. If its a concessionary like Starbucks then its up to that company whether they do or not.

Like others we just asked, sometimes, quite surprisingly they said yes, for instance my wife took a bag to the counter in Kate Spade at Disney Springs, I asked if they did DVC Discount and they took 20% off there and then much to my relief, didn't think they would for a minute.

Not long back ourselves and we found using our dvc discount extremely hit and miss.
The more common merchandise shops it was never a problem but the places we have used it previously or thought they would accept it they didn't.

It seemed that the AP holder discount was accepted nearly everywhere.

It is worth asking I find. My view is don't ask don't get!
We are fortunate as we have the three, DVC, TIW and AP. Normally one gets accepted. That's for merchandise, food or beverages.

Same as others experience. I asked most places and it worked, and didn't work ... and I'm sure there were places I didn't ask and would have got the discount!
