Disney QSDP

When did Disney stop including a dessert with your meal credits on the QSDP?

I believe 2016 was the last year that included them. 2017 saw the desserts go, but snack credits increased from 1 to 2. Personally, we found it much better as always found the qs desserts to be pretty poor. Now we can use a snack credit to get something much nicer from elsewhere if we want something sweet.

I thought that the last time we had QSDP (2012) there were desserts and 2 snacks per day. Must have mis-remembered that.

Thanks for the info. Bit disappointed to be honest. Might need to spend the $100 gift card on desserts.

Yes, it did used to be 2qs meal with desserts and 2 snacks, but they changed it to just one snack, then again to no desserts but back up to 2 snacks. I really don't think you'll need to spend money on desserts though as there's still plenty of food, and you can use a snack credit for dessert if you really want to. Plus, when eating at your resort you can swap the drink for anything that's a snack credit and use your refillable mug for the drink. However, you do now get the choice of alcoholic drinks with your qs meal now (new for 2018), so that might not be as popular as it was before.

I can honestly say that we've never needed to spend money on extra snacks or desserts when on the qsdp and we've had it in all it's formats since 2012. That's with two hungry teenagers in our group too. I wrote a qsdp food report during our trip last year, so you might find that a useful read as that was no desserts, but 2 snack credits(link in blue at the bottom of my signature). We still had loads of credits left at the end of the two weeks which we ended up changing for snacks to bring home. Much better to use your snack credits if you want dessert and then start paying towards the end of the holiday if you run out, that pay for them from the start only to discover that you've got loads of credits left and could have spent the money elsewhere

I was thinking that, as we are going in July, we would need the snack credits for drinks in the heat

Yes, but you could also make use of the free iced water too

Do you just ask for iced water at any of the QS outlets? Is it available anywhere else too?

Yes, you can just ask for it at any QS place, and also the little food booths that sell snacks and fountain drinks. Some places even have water dispensers set up where you can just help yourself - I recall them at Starbucks and Pizzafari last year

No problem. It's quite a popular tip I picked up on here
