To be honest, the recent cases in the news of European visitors running into trouble at the border sound like the kind of things that have always given people trouble. Having a criminal record, overstaying your visa, and having threatening text messages on your phone can get you detained and/or sent home and this has always been true. I think there's just more media attention on these types of cases because of the current president.
Now, some of the interior enforcement stuff the administration is doing does represent a large change - there is a real crackdown in this respect. But I think that stuff is mostly out of scope for this forum - it bears little relevance to most British visitors. Edited at 11:05 PM. |
