what happens if...

We have 2 separate bookings (party 1 and party 2) travelling to disney in May. I have linked both in the MDE and already booked many ADRs to cover all people. It is likely that party 2 will have to cancel their holiday. What happens to the ADRs? My hope is that they will remain (restaurant / time slot) but the size of booking will reduce. My fear is that I'll have to start over from fresh for Party 1 and hence lose the bookings i've already made. Anyone had experience of this and what was the outcome?

if the adrs are booked as 1 party - you booked say a table for 6 people to cover a group of 4 plus a group of 2 then as long as some of you turn up its not a problem and no charges apply.

A couple of times we ended up being a smaller party then the number of people booked for due to illness but it wasn't an issue

Another option is to phone up and explain what has happened and ask if they can amend your existing bookings to the smaller group size- They are usually able to accomodate this kind of issue as going down in party size is easier than going up.

Thanks for the reply. that eases my worries a little. I guess the difference between my situation and yours is that if one party cancel this would remove them from MDE and hence the ADR booking (i would assume) as you have to name the people linked to the ADR.

I don't think it really makes any difference as you don't need to be staying onsite or have a dining plan to book adrs - if you do it often automatically allocates people linked to the booking but it doesn't mean they have to be the ones going.
I have people linked to my mde from previous trips even though they are not on my latest booking

Absolutely, I can confirm nothing happens, up to you if you want to go in and amend the bookings to the reduced numbers.

The ADRs will remain and it’s up to you if you amend them for the new party size.
