“Avatar” experience to be built at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Im not sure. Walt was very happy to borrow from others, mostly the Brothers Grimm, and right now WDW holds little interest for most boys. I have not read anything about Dinoland being ripped up, other than what Mouse Mess posted. It will make for an interesting development, and the eco theme in Avatar chimes nicely with DAK.

I can't see them ripping out Dinoland this "Half day park" has seriously been lacking in attractions for a long time. It needs additions not replacements, whether Avatar is right for DAK only time will tell.

Seems like there will be Avatar attractions in more than DAK too, as this from Staggs on the Disney blogg suggests "Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the fantasy world of AVATAR to life at Disney Parks. And it’ll all begin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort."

I'm not a huge fan and honestly don't know how it will be received by staunch Disney fans. Whatever the outcome it sounds like another exciting project to follow.

I think if it's done, as they say, as a separate land, it should be a good extension to the park.

I didn't like the film personally but statistics and money prove otherwise for it's popularity. I don't think it will ruin AK - there is/was a dragon on the logo and I think they had always intended to have some kind of mythical creatures area. Combine the fantasy element with the movie franchise I think this will give HP a run for it's money maybe more so aimed at adults than children. Plus they can use advancing technologies an almost true representation of having an avatar in a virtual world.

I do find the idea a little odd but I'll reserve judgement until I see it - if it happens! sometimes these ideas get scrapped and it seems theres been a fairly negative reaction to it.

I'm sure it will be amazing even if a little out of place at Disney.

No one can say that Disney isn't moving forward now - what with Fantasyland and now this. Very exciting and lots of reasons to keep going back. Can't wait to see what's involved.
