When MGM studios first opened the Backlot Tour was excellent and a highlight of any visit.

But it has diminished year by year and is a rather sad shadow of what it once was.

There does need to be more for children in HS, so expanding Pixar Place is a good idea but it is important Disney tries to maintain the balance for all its guests. I'd like to see more about the film making process but not linked to any current big hits as that means an attraction ages fast - this could be a problem with linking too many experiences to Frozen.

Don't be disappointed - there is so much to see and do!

We're here on our 18th trip and having a wonderful time. When we first visited there was MK, Epcot and SeaWorld. That's all, oh and Cypress Gardens. We have seen so many changes, constant evolution is needed to keep things fresh. Yes, things will disappear and we will miss them - Pocohontas Show is a prime example - but as it says in Illuminations - We go on!

i would like the great movie ride to be updated now, it could be such a great attraction especially with some of the movies made over the last ten years the possibilities are endless.

It sounds quite sweet but I don't imagine we are the target audience though. Older teenagers here.

We go on the 11th October so am a bit disappointed that things may already have closed down.

Totally agree with that. I know the film scenes they show are from classic films but how many people under the age of 50 have seen all those films?

I thing this is great news, Catastrophe Canyon was like a leaky cauldron when we visited earlier this year so would need a massive update and to be fair as they don't film on the backlot anymore I think this would be prime to remove. Adding in the Toy story items should also not take too much time. I say this because the rides are all surface fixed and its just ground works and the they have just bolt them in. So they could clear and build all this in 6 months. But then its Disney so they may take longer to theme it all , but everything appears to be stuff they have in other parks so they know the challenges. If they close stuff Oct they could have it all up and running for Summer.
Now for the big leap. If they expand Pixar and put in 3 or 4 rides, that makes this an area to stay in for a few hours. This means it will soak up a few thousand people which is just what they need to be able to shut Indy and start the build of the new Star Wars pod racer ride.

Shame the backlot tour is going. I was one of the poor suckers that a cast member grabbed to take part. I was in the engine room and got gallons of water dumped on me! Great memory though.

Do you think they will re-position mike and scully somewhere else so we still get to meet them?
