Its a common thing & most of the pilots I know also suffer from it. My DH suffers to the point the pain can get so bad that he thinks he might be sick & he looks dreadful. We buy some tablets in Canada which seem to at least ease the proble & takes one before the flight and another during the flight. He also never eats on the plane and only drinks water. Hadn't thought of the charcoal tablets before I will get some and see how they work for him. Will check out the Kolanticon gel mentioned to.
Its a funny subject to most but to those who suffer its really bad & I do feel so sorry for them having seen my DH in such pain.

I suggested it was TMI as it was about people breaking wind on flights and whether it smells etc. Yes it is normal. Yes we all do it. I thought that perhaps it wasn't a good subject to be discussing to this degree. I made a judgement and then I apologised to OP if it caused offence. There are lots of other things that are natural that people do and which I also wouldn't necessarily want to read about. Once again I am sorry if it caused any offence or was seen as being petty.

Me too - I suffer quite bad - I'm going to buy some of the stuff suggested to see if it helps at all.
Good old Dibb to the rescue again . . . Edited to say: after reading up on Kolanticon Gel i'm not sure this will help on a flight . . . It helps to relieve indigestion by reducing acidity, and relieve flatulence by bringing together all the small bubbles of gas to form a large bubble which can be expelled.
