Never thought I would say this but I now prefer the Universal system of either paying for Express passes or having them as part of booking their deluxe hotels

Wonder if you could book just one fastpass at tier 1 and then another tier 1 once that has been used

No you can’t.

You must use your 3 prebooked fastpasses, including the two at tier 2, to open up access to continuous booking of fastpasses including those at tier 1.
It will need careful modification of your tier 2 passes to get them “done” as quickly as possible. So, scan in and then modify to bring the next one forward to the earliest time.

This Is definitely coming.

There would have been uproar though if they’d announced charges for fastpass to coincide with opening of GE.

The quicker it arrives the better as far as I’m concerned

But the expansion of tier 1 means there will inevitably be headliners left on the day.

Make your pre book choice from what are likely to go first. Things like TOT and RnR I’m sure will be available still on the day.

Of course, like the old days, it means you’ll have to be there for rope drop and tier 1 allocation will conclude by the afternoon.

I think it’s designed to appease off site guests more, as onsite guests have 3 hours exclusive access to the park every day

Sigh. Had hoped to miss all this nonsense by booking for September but with GE being opened early it’s put a dampener on the HS element of this holiday somewhat. Still, being in Disney is still better than not being in Disney I guess!

You go on holiday to have fun with your family not spend months panicking and planning your days to the minutest detail then when those days finally arrive spend the time stressing about if you’ve done it right and getting your phone out constantly to move things about to get more options.

Admittedly I’ve had a bad day so may feel differently in the morning but right now Disney just seems to be so much effort and money for potentially very little reward 😔
Being on the dibb over exaggerates everything imo . You will still go and have a fab time and it really doesn’t have to be planned like a military operation as is sometimes suggested. Adrs can easily be picked up on the day or the day before , even bog . A lot of fastpasses and adrs are taken by people not quite knowing what their plans or so book loads just in case ( I’ve been that person ) , we might be in that park or we might eat there but no one really knows until they get there. Being able to book so far out doesn’t slightly generate a sense of if I don’t book it I feel like I’m missing out.
Hope you feel better today

this is actually the most ridiculous thing i think Disney have ever done.
There is no need for the teir 2 to teir 1 changes AT ALL.
yes star wars should be tier 1, but with all toy story rides being teir 1 aswell are you honestly expected to get ANYTHING done? especially if you are travelling with infants. Its stupid

If this system continues into Sep 2020 (hopefully not) then for us it will just mean when we finish in EP for example just before lunch we may try to grab a Tier 1 in HS and head there to do that 1 ride before heading back to hotel for pool time.
We have always loved HS and could spend a whole day there easy but it will become a park to dip in and out of for us... hopefully the system may change for the better by then though.

Doesn’t this mean people will just book tier 2’s that they don’t want / won’t use just to get the 3 FP done so they can book another tier 1? Madness!

Luckily OH is not bothered about RnR or ToT so will do single rider on both of these now
