Flying first time with Virgin in April and got 18 a/c/d both ways. Quite a lot had gone by the time we booked but happy with those.

We flew a couple of weeks ago and got 19A&C on the way our and 24H&K on the way back. Interestingly we had an email a couple of days before we flew out asking us to pre-order our meal - we did and both ordered the beef option.

On board our meals were served before anyone else and we asked the cabin supervisor why we had been able to do this - apparently it was a trial starting that day and we were the first to be given the option. It was great as 19 A&C are one of the last to be served and there is rarely all 3 options left. In fact the beef dish ran out at row 17 so if we hadn't pre-ordered we wouldn't have got the meal we liked.

I just hope they continue to offer this for after the trail period.

if you have miles or companion seat do you have to be on the phone or text by a certain time to bag the flight and especially the seat you want

I

You need to be prepared to be a little more flexible, but we got 4 PE seats on day of release outbound from Manchester, but inbound only had Glasgow on release day. Booked those knowing that if Manchester does become available could move them. 2 days later they did release more and switched. This is flying Sat 16th - 30th May over half term.
