Do restaurants in the states have hygiene ratings?
I did a search but couldn't find anything, and I would be interested to know if restaurants in Florida have hygene ratings like we have in the UK?

Yes there are restaurant inspections online but you will need to look at the county the restaurant is located in

Yes, but you might be better off not knowing - some have stickers on the doors like ours do, if I remember correctly...

Thanks for the replies. i have tried to download the app, but at the last stage it keeps coming up as error. Not sure if it's because I'm in the UK, in which case I will try it in a couple of weeks when I'm in Florida.
I do take the point on it's best not knowing, but I am fussy where I eat or have take aways from, and anything less than a 4 out of 5 rating in the UK I won't entertain. |

Wish Florida and others were like NYC, where they have to display the A,B or C rating in the window .
Apparently only ever eat in A's there!

I'm same as you, I also don't like eating sandwiches from places where they have their hands all over them. I've dealt with food poisoning cases, and we are not stringent enough in UK in my opinion, there are some unsanitary practises go on.
The suggested app only seems available from Google Play store in USA unfortunately.

'Whatthehealth Florida' is available on the Apple App Store but as the OP says, might have to wait until they are here to download. It's a very good app, better than working through the maze that is the official Health site.
