I suspect they won't run during a thunderstorm. It's a good job that most of the time there isn't a thunderstorm happening.

I think a mono rail still looks much more futuristic, I wont open the Pandora's box though.
Cable car's are just a bit of an eyesore in my opinion, perfectly suited for ski resorts though! And the AT one is quite hidden in some respects as it goes through the trees.

Yeah - I mean I was on this in the early 70s in Butlins, Ayr

its not really futuristic! Although I recon epcots a good look at how people in the early 70s thought the future would be rather than an always evolving futurefest they think it is.

I do like it tho and if I can get from CBR to HS and Epcot better faster I'm all for it - but not if they add £1000 to a 2 week hol.

But I would prefer if they get the teleportation system from Coatbridge to Epcot sorted.

I'm sure the Imagineers are working on it as we speak!

Changing the subject slightly but does anyone remember the cable cars at Woburn Safari Park. I loved going on them at the time (80's) but thinking back I'm not sure how safe they were (which is probably why they got rid of them!).

I'm looking forward to seeing them at Disney!

I'm with you in that I think monorails look more futuristic - even if they've been around for ages (Disneyland opened its monorail back in 1959). However, I think that's partially to do with the design of gondola cars versus monorail trains. Perhaps a gondola design more like this would change our minds:

I also like the idea of merging the cable car and monorail into something more like the maglev SkyTran monorail:

A gondola system that looked like the above would be cool.

Just had a flashback to being on one of them in the 80s when I felt sick as convinced my 7 year old nephew was going to wriggle though the bars and fall to his death.
