Food in Hollywood Studios

Haven't been to Hollywood Studios since it was MGM but we have unlimited tickets next year so will be going! I have been watching videos on YouTube of food in all of the parks, and just can't see much here (for the QSDP) that we would like. Even AJ on DFB mentions that the QS options aren't great.

Would we be better saving our credits and doing half days in HS, going to Disney Springs or another park for food?

Thanks!

You’re right, QS options are poor. That said, I wouldn’t cut my time at the park short because of it. If you’re ready to leave at lunchtime I wouldn’t stay to eat there but otherwise I would find something.

We were there last week and wanted to try the ABC commissary which looked the best for QS however when we got there it was shut! Think it shut at 7pm, so we went to the dockside diner, actually it was really good, chilli dog and nachos with all the toppings, nice drinks too. If want a table service at HS we went to Mama Melrose and that was really good too, my husband had steak and I had prawns and spaghetti.

We ate at ABC commissory and Backlot Express last week for quick service they are ok and if you're on the dining plan they do frozen cocktails and sangria

We ate at ABC and thought the food was very average. Woody’s lunchbox,I had looked at the menu before visiting and nothing appealed however we were hungry and it was closest. We had the BBQ beef melt and it was very good.
However I think your plan to leave and eat at DS is best

Don't know if there are any better options at Beach/Yacht club or Boardwalk? Might be easier to "pop" over to those than go back to DS if you don't fancy the options at DHS?

My Wife is extremely fussy and won't touch many quick service meals. Won't eat a burger, hot dog, chicken salad etc

However we both like the Caprese sandwich in the Backlot Express. Mozzarella cheese in a nice ciabatta roll.

We thought backlot express was fine. Kids enjoyed the novelty of darth vader waffles and chicken.
As Tom said, the caprese sandwich is good.
I enjoyed the peanut butter and chocolate cupcake!

Yeah, DHS is definitely the 'worst' in terms of the QS options.

That being said, we liked the meal we had from Fairfax Fair (opposite the entrance to Fantasmic) on our last trip - it had Tex Mex food, and was very tasty and filling. There's a couple of other places near there as well. Unfortunately no indoor seating, though, so in the summer months it's not a great option.

Agreed that HS is the worst. But backlot express and ABC are fine for a quick lunch . I would only go if you’re ready to, rather than plan to leave for lunch
