I hate Henrietta

So since redundancy one my new household chores is to hoover stairs twice a week (whether they need doing or not!)

AND it has to be done with the smiling assassin that is Henrietta the Hoover. A big barrel of a machine

We have a hand held Shark that cost a million pounds but that doesnt get the stairs as clean... apparantly. Although I bet the other half uses it when I'm out!

Anyway this morning half way down (or up?) Henrietta not for the first time decides to topple from middle landing, bounces of 3 stairs and cracks me on my old footy injury knee. Ouch.

Clatter! Bang! Scream! Other half comes running out of kitchen to see Henrietta at bottom of stairs with her top hanging off. She ignores me to offer first aid to the assassin! Said assassin meanwhile stares straight at me with that flippin smile! Sure it winked at me!

Anyway it's back in the wife's changing room "bouidwar", friends together. Still smiling.

I hope you didn’t break Henrietta - you would be in big trouble

I used to have same issue with Henrietta’s companion Henry! How my back ached after using him to do while house and like you it was always a balancing act on the stairs! He got locked away in our under stairs cupboard when we invested in a shark lift away, though I did notice Henry had disappeared when I looked last week so not sure who has him now😀 bless him he was good at the time when I was younger and fitter 😀

My dad has been chased down the stairs by his hoover , who says cleaning never hurt anyone?
I used to have an Edward I think it was , (Henry’s big brother) and he was an absolute unit , a few times he would topple over and smack me in the shin or land on my foot .

What an eye opener. I never knew people bought a Henry and I have never heard of Henrietta.

The only times I have ever seen them was when I was working and the contract cleaners we employed used them. Badly I must say but that was down to them not the machine.

The best vaccum money can buy in my opinion of course.

Did you try to vacuum with the long section still on? If you did it's far easier to take it off and just rub the pipe end along the carpet which gets right in the corners too and allows you to steady your opponent with your other hand.

They're lively little fellers and you do need to be on your guard.

I have a Vax blade. I have Henry downstairs, rarely used now. The blade does my stairs and all the upstairs with ease! Before Blade, Henry would reach part of the stairs from the hallway. I uses a rubber brush for the top part of the stairs and another wertheim vacuum for the bedrooms. No more lugging a machine upstairs! Two vacuums is the way to go.

Henry’s are tricky to manage on stairs and very heavy but virtually indestructible. I used to manage a seaside holiday let which once got flooded. The kitchen was underwater and we had to buy a new dishwasher and fridge, Henry however was bobbing merrily around still smiling and fully functional!

It's the smile😬 bit like the Clown phobia thing! 😂😂

We have a Shark but apparantly the Assassin is better on stairs.

Knee swelled, any comfort? No.

Henrietta's probably having her bag changed and a swish down with some perfumed cleaner!
