This thread makes me sad. We’ve stayed at RPR a few times and love it. We’re meant to be staying HRH in August. I wish I was able to compare for you!

RPR is lovely, the pool area is great and the theming is beautiful.

I've been very lucky to be able to stay at all 3 and struggle to choose between them.
The walk from HRH takes you to close to the entrance of Universal, whereas the walk from RPR takes you closer to IOA but on the other side of the bridge by Margaritaville. I'd say they are pretty similar distances for walking. Rather at the moment as I've just this week had to cancel a 2 week club level RPR booking for 1st August...

We've stayed at both and prefer Royal Pacific. There's nothing wrong with the Hard Rock but we liked the peacefulness of RP. We didn't get as good service at HR and had to wait so much longer for our room at check in.
Our ultimate favourite however is Portofino! |

Agree with the post above.
We used to like Royal Pacific the best (we love Hard Rock but the theme at RPR is more to our taste and we just like the hotel more) until we stayed at Portofino which is easily the best of the 3. RPR is cheaper than Hard Rock so if it was a choice between that and RPR, i would always choose RPR. If they were the same price i would still choose RPR They are both excellent though |

Definitely RPH! Nice staff, relaxed atmosphere/environment, cheaper. Were really, really disappointed with HRH. Nice enough hotel, but staff really not very pleasant and surly. Almost felt like they though you should be grateful for staying there. Pool was ice cold as well. RPR anyway and not a bad experience in 10 stays :-)
