Who is superstitious?
I was told as a kid that certain things could bring me bad luck such as walking under a ladder, breaking a mirror (7 years bad luck), Friday the 13th, bad luck comes in 3s etc. I believed these to be true (well I was young).
I now think superstitions are complete nonsense with zero evidence just like heaven and hell. Is anyone superstitious? Edited at 04:34 PM. |

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and Autumn moon is bright.”
Nonsense. |

I should have had my breast cancer operation on Friday 6th December 2013. After I had informed all that needed to know the hospital rang me to say they had double booked and moved the op to Friday 13th
I was not peturbed by this. However so much went wrong for me to list on here including hemorrhaging (sic) that my recovery took 6 months instead of 6 weeks. I told my mum last year I was going nowhere last year Friday December 13th. I had to . Mum was taken into hospital. We had to set her house up with Zimmer frames etc for her to come home. She passed away 6th March. I dont have issues with Friday 13th as such but if it's in December ( next one is 2024) ě am now reasonable scared.

Nah I'm not, my middle Grandson was born on Friday the 13th,so that one doesn't bother me, I don't walk under a ladder but that's only because I don't want anything dropping on my head. 😳

Not superstitious in the slightest, but work with a load of people who are, it is chipping away at my soul day by day.
You can't put new shoes there, you must throw spilled salt over your shoulder, touch wood, Friday the 13th - oh no..., don't point at a rainbow, or a magpie (god the superstitions about bloomin magpies), don't break a mirror, don't give an empty purse as a present - all backed up by the anecdotal time that their mother's cousin's girlfriend's brother did something and almost died. |
