As you say, they make the charge in the early hours though, so if you want to settle it some other way then it's important to sort it the night before.

I've never been aware of "holds" on my cards - I know they happen, but how do people see them?

That's how it was up until a few months ago so it sounds like they've changed it back again.

We’ve just left and the whole bill settled automatically last night. Just to wait for the holds to drop off now.

I see holds on both my CC as pending transactions. I’ve never spent enough on a credit card at WDW though to know if pending transactions count to your overall total allowed spend as mine will
always be on a zero balance when we arrive. I suppose that’s the issue for people who need to know what’s left to spend on their CC though and could be pretty significant in that sense. This is interesting. I’m going to have a geek out Google and try and find their policy on this.

Had a recent discussion on this with a failed BG transaction, the funds are "Held" so unavailable until,BG in this scenario, complete the second part of the transaction, if they don't then the funds "drop" back into the account & become available again- 3-5 Working days

For my 3 week stay in July I didn’t have any holds placed on my card - checked the app regularly.
Final bill charged to card ($900ish) on check out day.
