John Lewis have consistently been offering the best rates ( or top 2) for a year or two now... used them a lot for all currencies

I am amazed when people say their Florida trips aren't costing much more than a few years ago (maybe their maths is bad or they voted leave - possibly both).
Perhaps they are "downsizing", cheaper hotel, no car, smaller budget for eating out etc ?

You're correct that some people are downsizing or not doing disney parks etc, but I am more referring to those people who suggest there is no real difference in cost to their Florida holidays in the past few years.

I also bought from John Lewis at about 5AM when I read this!
1.201 😳
Ah well, the majority of the trip was paid in £’s so I’ll live with it.

It does make it a fair chunk more when you add up the full cost

Nearly bought mine from john lewis last week at 1.24, thought I would just wait for 1.25, what a mistake that was under 1.2 now and will lose $60 plus on the amount I wish to buy, bit of a double whammy for us as I've booked 6 nights concierge at the portofino direct so have only paid a deposit so far, the balance to be paid in dollars at the time. Started out a really good deal but getting more expensive by the day

It’s a one way bet for currency speculators - they must be making a fortune!

No, that can't be right. Boris said the people betting against Britain would lose their shirts.

If anyone knows anything about how the dollar v pound rate is worked out - it is not just brexit that effects it... It is so many factors... all beyond our control.

Sick of reading ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈ using everything that is going badly to bash brexit.
