Cheeky question?

Hi,

I'm travelling to Australia and New Zealand Zealand later this year for my 40th, my partners 50th and our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Being the cheeky sod that I am, would you email your travel agent, the airlines, hotels and cruise company to see if they could offer any cheeky upgrades or freebies? or would it not be worth asking?

Absolutely! I�m just back from San Francisco & Las Vegas & emailed both hotels a week before & was upgraded both times! It was my sons 21st birthday! No harm in asking 😉

Twitter is good for that too if you use it. We got an upgraded to a suite in a hotel in Chicago for our 10th wedding anniversary

Definitely mention it. For our honeymoon we got a glass of champagne on the flight, fruit basket and flowers in one of the rooms, little jams in a coconut and flowers in another (plus room upgrade) and a free meal voucher for one of the hotels restaurants. Granted it was a number of years ago but travel agent we went though told all the reservations we were on honeymoon and asked them to �make it special� for us. It definitely was so if you don�t say, you won�t get.

We got free champagne on our flight to New York with Virgin and a free bootle and an upgrade at our hotel in Boston.
