Any tips on starting to plan a Canadian rockies followed by a cruise to Alaska

It’s a big bucket list thing I would love to do,

Hi, we were in the Canadian Rockies last year and loved it. We were in Alaska a year before that. It’s easy to fly up to Anchorage so I don’t think that I would bother with a cruise - I would self drive Alaska - you will see so much more...

In both places you are amongst the wildlife - we had bear spray, a whistle and bear bells. We did see a grizzly bear and plenty of scat! There are also warnings for wolves, bull elk and other critters!

We started in Seattle because we have friends there...

Day One Seattle to Leavenworth (Odd Bavarian style town) and stayed in Wenatchee (the apple capital of the world!)
Day 2 walked the Maple Pass Trailhead and Lake Ann and then stayed in Winthrop which is styles as a Wild West town (seriously)
Day 3 we crossed the Canadian border and stayed in Golden, which is where we bought our Discovery Pass ( to give you access to the national parks)
Day 4 we had a great walk Takakkaw Falls and lake yoho - amazing scenery

Day 5 Wapta Falls and Emerald Lake and then on to Banff

Day 6 one of my favourite walks ever 6 Glacier Plain walk from Lake Louise

Day 7 Grassi Lakes in Bow Valley and Johnson Lake and Lake Minnewanka
Day 8 My other favourite walk - Larch Valley

Day 9 Johnston canyon and inkpots
Day 10 - we had planned to drive to Jasper but there was early snow ( 13th sept!) and the Icefield parkway that links jasper and Lake Louise was impassible! so we shifted our plans and went to Glacier National Park in Montana instead!
Day 11 and 12 in glacier national Park
Day 13 - 17 back in Seattle with our friends.
