What a shame. The best cast covers are from a company called Limbo. They are really good. You can order on line and they deliver really quickly.

Make sure you contact your airline and arrange special assistance on board. Also, make sure you have a dr's letter detailling the injury, you should also be able to request special assistance at the parks and gain priority access to rides. Every cloud and all that...

I also recommend Limbo cast covers. I used one a few years ago when I had a fracture and it was excellent. I had hand surgery yesterday and have got another to protect my cast. They are well worth the money.

This happened to me on last holiday. My fracture did not heal in time so I hired a scooter which really helped .Disney were very accommodating so it was easy to transfer on to rides and get on transportation. Hoping her ankle heals quickly.

Heal time can be as fast as 3 weeks with a simple avulsion fracture. Bone as been pulled off rather than a through fracture. If position is good children grow new bone quickly. The fracture clinic will be the place for advise as to how long cast will be on. Often applied for pain relief initially. Make sure she eats calcium rich foods with vit c and rest. It's true milk is good for bones. Fingers crossed it's all good by holiday time.X

How old is she? And have they said how bad the brake is?
We was told that our sons brake would heal in 3-4 weeks he he was very careful and kept weight off it. Apparently children’s bones heal a lot quicker than adults, the younger the better.
Our son was 8 and his cast was off after 3 weeks and was then given a boot which could be worn when walking a fair distance x x
Hi, this gives me hope, she was 14 yesterday so hopefully hers will heal this quickly too! We go to the fracture clinic on Thursday so hopefully they will tell us more! A boot would be great though, as long as she could take it off to swim. Thanks
