If you had 12 hours to kill at Heathrow-what would you do?

We'll be staying the night at premier inn t4 and our flight isn't in till 10pm.

What should we do for that day?

What time is your stopover - are your 12 hours during the day or during the night? (Sorry a bit confused about this as you wrote that you're staying overnight at an airport hotel)

I have an 8 hour stopover at Heathrow later this year during the day (10am-6pm). My plan is to leave the airport, take the Piccadilly line into central London, and then spend a couple of hours wandering around the Oxford Street/Leicester Square/Regent Street area and buying some stuff! The only thing is that by the time I account for time taken to enter the UK, take the tube into central London, and also for time taken to take the tube back to Heathrow and go through security and go to the gate, there really isn't that much time left for me to walk around central London!

Windsor or Hampton Court would be my choices.
(I used to live in Staines so on the doorstep ... what kind of stuff were you thinking, historic, sporty, shopping ?
Richmond with the park and shopping or even a river trip is another option ... or on a different note entirely the Runnymead hotel does a nice spa day .

I'd probably stay in London and enjoy a day there and then travel to the airport about 7pm.

You can get the Heathrow express in / out of London in about 15 minutes.

Windsor or Hampton Court would be my recommendation. Both fairly easy to get to from Heathrow, albeit Windsor easier
