I have never bought a real tree, we used to have real trees as kids and it was great fun going out and picking one but I prefer artificial ones purely because it saves time and money having it on hand every year . there are artificial trees that look fake and ones that look real but my comment was purely in jest about you saying a real tree not looking like a real tree , I wasn't mocking you preferring an artificial one , let's not turn this thread into " treegate "

It took like 10 seconds to get to a point you couldn’t deal with. Think the video was from the firemen somewhere warning people about the trees being dry.
As much as I’d love one id have to not have lights on it and I like the lights so got a fake one from the garden centre today. Hubby refuses to put it up tho as it’s not December, usually I would agree but I’m getting too excited |

we have a fake tree we did try a real one once but the dog kept cocking his leg against it
I do prefer the look of fake trees over a lot of the real trees you see in the shops - those always seem really sparse/bare looking and I prefer my tree to look fuller and more even. I'm sure there are some lovely real trees out there esp if you live near a tree farm or are prepared to pay more money for it but having pets/young kids around and a ds who is very sensitive to smells I'm happy with my fake tree. |

I always had a fake tree growing up! We have real ones now though we work at an auction that has thousands of Christmas trees in around this time of year too... we get ours for around £8 for a 7ft beautiful tree ! A no brainier for that reason too lol

We have a real tree every year. We don't buy it until mid December so the prices have usually dropped by then. We usually have a Nordman Fir and they are quite bushy. I love that it's not all perfect and symmetrical and that it smells so good. You do have to look after it as it needs kept watered but most years ours looks like a new tree when it's time to take it down. We're in the local council garden scheme so they take it away and chip it so it can be used as mulch. None of our cats have ever shown an interest in it.

Mine this year is Yankee Pine Berry - one of the ones I brought from the outlet :-)
I was looking at those and wondering how good they would be?
