I came back from a three and a half week trip to Barbados and Orlando last Monday and had dropped my Tesla Model 3 with Maple Parking at Heathrow with 54% charge. According to the Teslafi software I have installed, they drove it 6.5 miles on 2 separate trips on the day I left it and the day after using 2%, then the day before I landed and on the day itself they drove 6.5 miles to return it to me using 4%. It was returned to me with 40% so Maple used up 6% and 'phantom draining' was 8% which over that three and a half week period was way better than I expected. Obviously I'd turned off Sentry mode and I resisted the temptation to use the app to check in on it at any time.

Having 40% meant I could do a good amount of my journey home before I needed to charge up and I didn't need to head straight to a charger around Heathrow.

Read the terms and conditions, they are a great read. Would never leave my keys with these muppets as your are allowing free use of your car.

"During our normal operations our drivers may carry other members of our staff with them to or from our compounds for training or logistical reasons. "

You are agreeing that they can use your car for any business purpose like dropping or collecting other drivers from pickup points.

logic500 - Richard your flight is looking very busy now not many unoccupied seats only 3 singles in WT but a few blocked. Fingers crossed you get some space around your seat but think you'll be lucky.

In fairness I can see they drove it to what I presume is a short term compound on the day I left and another facility the next day (I can see the addresses), did the same in reverse on the penultimate and last days, and they definitely didn’t use it in the intervening 3 weeks. No complaints from me about Maple Parking.

Who did you fly with from Barbados to Orlando? Did you have to fly indirect?

That’s strange. It’s almost like the direct service from Barbados to Charlotte has finished.

We travelled BGI-CLT then CLT-MCO on 10 July.

Edit: it looks like the route is flying but not as a one way from BGI as I can book a dummy round trip from CLT-BGI-CLT.

Oh damn! I wonder if I can ring AA to book or if I can do BGI-CLT-BGI?

I can get a JetBlue flight into NYC if not, but that’s a longer flight down to MCO.

I’d get what you can as prices are only heading one way and my experience of being at BGI was that both our flights to CLT and then on to MCO were full, as was the BGI to Miami at the next gate, as was my return home flight MCO-JFK. The Americans are definitely holidaying at the minute.

That was the second time we’d used Barbados to get to our place in Florida (though only my wife flew on to MCO in November) and on neither occasion had we booked the onward flights until near the end of the Barbados holidays. Now I’d be wary that it’s not so easy to get a one way flight out of there.

American also fly to MCO via Miami though the random August date I just looked at was costing over £1,300 one way.
