Disneyland / Universal / LA with kids
Hi, we are thinking of doing Disneyland and Universal in California next year and was hoping to get some advice and help on trip planning. We were thinking 2 days at Universal and 3 or 4 days at Disney. What other things can anyone recommend in the area? Where can you recommend to stay? Planning a 2 week trip with husband & 2 kids (10 & 12). Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi - with 2 weeks the main thing to be aware of is being tempted to try and fit too many things/places in. There is so much to see and do in California that it's easy to end up spending most of the holiday on the road.
It looks as though you're building your holiday around theme parks? If so a natural extension would be to include some time in San Diego (Seaworld, Legoland, Zoo). Also consider spending some time at the Orange County beaches close to Anaheim - Laguna, Huntington etc where you can so whale watching etc. A couple more days in and around LA/Malibu and that's probably your 2 weeks gone. An alternative is to do the more traditional West Coast and work your way up to San Francisco. Worth doing but ideally you'd need more time or cut back elsewhere. |

Thank you, we’ve just been looking at San Diego too as an option. So much to potentially do ... off to ponder extending the trip!
