Mnsshp - Disney fix?

Not doing disney at all in 2022. Only ever done Disney onsite previously. Last visit was 2016. Kids will be 14 & 17 in 2022.

Is mnsshp a good cheap way of getting a Disney fix. I can’t see any cheap day tickets for any park. After hours look events look cheaper. We will be there mid August.

How much would we get out of it with kids our age? They don’t do dressing up. We did Halloween in mk one year (not mnsshp) and it was pants. You wouldn’t have known it was actual Halloween.

Always enjoyed hallowishes when seen it from the Cali grill balcony.

Would we be able to do many rides? Is it super crowded?

We have done the MNSSHP a few times. Our DS was 15 the last time we went and we did an August party. We don't do dress up. Love the fireworks and the parade. Also the special photo ops. We did quite a few rides and got lots of candy. We did however enter MK early as had a usual entrance ticket and did 3 fast passes for the rides that wouldn't be open. We also ate so we wouldn't need to stop during the actual party. I think we managed Buzz, Haunted Mansion, Small world, Big Thunder, Speedway, Pirates and saw the fireworks and parade. we enjoyed it but think we got more done because we got in earlier with our ordinary park pass.

You can usually get into the park on a party night ticket at 4pm, loads of time to do rides before the party starts. We have done it a few times and enjoyed it.

It isn’t how I would choose to get a Disney fix, I’d pick After Hours over MNSSHP. I did it last year, entered at 4pm and got about three rides done as it was absolutely rammed and no fast passes available even for those first couple of hours (obviously none during the event). I have never spent so much time in queues as I did that night. I think MNSSHP is more for if you enjoy parades and fireworks than for rides.

MNSSHP is the normal Disney cake with a themed icing on top.

Hi. What’s after hours? Are there other options if you don’t have a full on park ticket?

After Hours is a limited attendance event that commences after regular park close so it can run on until midnight or even 1am depending on time of year.

They really do limit the attendance so all the rides are walk ons. There is nothing special on though, no parades etc., it is purely for doing rides and seeing the park at night. The exception is the Villains After Hours event which is perhaps something inbetween as it has Villains parades and fireworks but more limited attendance than MNSSHP.

I have been to a few After Hours events and was supposed to go to the Villains one in April.

OP it depends what you class as cheap? You will still be $100 each, After Hours will run higher than that, Villains was $150 (I think) & depending on which Day you picked, a 1 day pass is going to be around that price. You could almost say that there are no "cheap" options!
Nearly all the rides are open at MNSSHP, generally they are only closed if they need the queuing area, but the parties are busy & not unusual for some nights to sell out but you will get all the rides done, if that is all you are doing. After Hours is the best bet but who knows what pricing will be like post C19
