Rome and Sorrento

We have decided to visit Rome and Sorrento next year, spending 3 nights in Rome.

Would anyone recommend any hotels, looking to stay close to the Trevi fountain.

I have googled some and some have rooftop terraces, I think this would be lovely

We stayed at the Hotel Hiberia last time. It is old, quirky and has a wrought iron, Victorian lift up the centre. Breakfast was also complimentary and decent, a huge advantage. The desk staff were extremely helpful, giving guidance and even street maps.
Opposite is an off licence and a really good Gelato shop.

The ‘wedding cake’ is around a 250yd walk and is the true centre of Rome, with a balcony on top from where you can get your bearings as you can see everything.

Trevi.. 250 yds.
Colliseum.. 500 yds

Highly recommended and we had a 2 bedroom suite with a roof terrace at a really good rate.

Hope it helps.

We stayed at the Hotel Artemide which is within easy walking distance of Rome Termini train station, the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. There is also a metro station 100m from the hotel for getting to other areas. The rooms were small as is common with city centre hotels but felt quite luxurious. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, although given the present circumstances, might not be a buffet now.

We stayed at the Africa hotel in Rome in September. It was perfect. A few mins stroll from the coliseum. There were loads of restaurants and bars close by. The actual hotel was lovely. On the morning of hubby’s 40th I requested a table for breakfast on the roof with the colosseum in the background. It’s not the cheapest but was perfect.
