Hi

Thinking of staying in SD before a cruise

Can I ask how far away seaworld is from the cruise port

Are we better off having few nights in hotel just for SW etc then night before cruise stay in different hotel?

Any suggestions

Thank you

Hi Eeyorefan Sea World isn't very far from downtown where the cruise ship terminal is- you're only looking at a 15-20 minute drive. So, if you find a hotel around Sea World you like, you could stay there the whole time and not have to move hotels. If your cruise is leaving on a weekday morning, there will likely be heavier rush hour traffic heading downtown, so plan a little extra time to get there.

November weather is usually on the cool side- the 60's is average, sometimes it will warm up into the low 70's, but it won't get much warmer than that.

The hotels closest to Sea World will be more of the resort type, so if that is alright for you then I would suggest the Catamaran hotel, the Dana, or the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay.

For something simpler and decent, there is a newer Holiday Inn Express in Mission Valley, it's only 10 minutes from Sea World, and they provide a free breakfast buffet too. m.ihg/hotels/holidayinne...eldetail/sanbp

All of these places charge for parking, so if you will have a car, be sure to check for that cost as well.

A house rental would probably be the best situation for a group that size. I'd suggest looking for homes on websites like VRBO (vacation rentals by owner), Homeaway or Airbnb. Some central areas of town to look for a rental in would be Mission Bay, Mission Beach, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach, Old Town and Point Loma. If you are ok with being just a little outside of the central area of San Diego, but still within a reasonable distance to the sights, then I'd suggest La Jolla, or the Bird Rock area.
