Disney's 50th Anniversary - When will it be announced?

Like most people, we're planning on going back next year. Not quite sure when yet as it depends on the when the borders open & the FCO advice.

Curious to know when people think Disney will start their celebrations? A crystal ball would be really handy right now...

It's slated for Oct but they could delay due to C19 or go ahead. I know some of the plans have already been shelved -Spaceship Earth is no longer getting it's major makeover, Mary Poppins ride is pretty much just going to be indoor teacups now & the list goes on.
It would be understandable to delay & give themselves sometime to see how the economy is going to pan out but also they could go ahead to try & "drum up" more business IYKWIM

Would of thought Oct too.

Does anyone know when you can put your reservation number into my disney experience app and the reservation will show up? I'm not going untill December next year & booked last Wednesday but magicband orders are open and i want to be on the ball with Galaxy edge reservations/desert party reservations when they (fingers crossed)open up again as i expect it will be mega busy next year. I've read it takes 48hrs but nothing yet?

Oh I don't know whether it's good or bad that's the day we arrive! I assumed the celebrations would go Jan till Dec. We've moved ours from this year to next same dates. Is there anywhere with information about the celebrations that I can read.

The actual anniversary date is 1st October, well over a year away. Unlike the doomers and gloomers I think things will be pretty much back to normal by then and the celebrations won't be postponed.

So do I, I actually think things will be back to normal before the year is out, Disney will want to rinse every dollar from the public by the time the lucrative Christmas period comes along.

I was wondering if it would be earlier based on the fact that October package dates are cheaper than September and previous months?

I’m hoping the celebrations would be from 1st October as we’d be re-booking for Aug/sept and don’t fancy the anniversary crowds, But didn’t the DLP anniversary last a year?

It did, but they only launched the celebrations from about two weeks before the actual anniversary date. Then I think the celebrations lasted around 18 months in total. We visited during the anniversary year in 2017, but when we went back in May-June 2018, there were still some celebrations ongoing.
I’m sure the launch was in March 2017, the actual anniversary date was April 2017, and the grand finale was in September 2018.
