Discovery Cove (Dolphin interaction)
Hi All,
I've done DC three times before now with the dolphin interaction. For me it's worth every penny... however, having heard about the changes to the dolphin interaction (which is not much of an interaction) I've been so disappointed. I emailed DC and they have said the following - We are pleased to inform you that our dolphin interaction will resume Friday, July 10th 2020. The interaction will be waist deep in the water, there will be opportunities to have your photo taken while giving hugs and kisses to your dolphin. I can't fully remember it to be honest but does this sound like they're going back to what it used to be? For reference - here's what people are saying about the changes to the dolphin interaction from TA... You get almost knee level into the water and two dolphins and their trainers will be about 8 feet away from you. You will learn about the dolphins, the way they are cared for, etc. The trainers will show a few tricks...and then you get out. No touching at all. Thanks! Anthony |

The reply from DC sounds like how it was previously that was what we did last time we went pre Covid.
Hopefully this is what you get. |

I love DC but felt a bit cautious after they weren't refunding people (didn't affect me but didn't sit right with me) and then changing the experience so much...I understand why they'd do it but they would have to offer something to make up for the change in experience. Good to see it returning to some form of normality. Only thing they didn't mention was the mini swim with the dolphin but that's not a major thing

The swim is only a quick drag back to shore so not really a big thing but is surprising if they are letting the dolphin kiss you they could drag you in.
I assumed they had removed that due to contact. We are going next year but haven't booked the swim as we have done it before. In fairness we just love the place overall so would go regardless it was the best day last time we went. |
