Thumbs up San fran Hotels

Hey

So i am looking for hotels in San Fran, i am wondering what ones you have all been to before, i know i can look on like hotels.com for some hotels but wondering which ones you would all suggest.

I went back in 2014 and thought i was staying in a hotel but was a shared bathroom sort of hotel that houses people on benefits, i paid more to stay there for 3 days that they paid for a 2 week stay.

So this time would love a nice hotel :-)

Hope you can help

X

We stayed at a budget hotel in China Town, Grant Plaza if I remember the name. It still cost a fortune but was very basic, we didn't have to share a bathroom though!

If we went again, I have read good things about the Holiday Inn Fishermans Warf & the Lombard Inn Motor Inn.

If I had a decent budget, it would be the Westin Union Square.

Few years ago we stayed in the Chancellor hotel. Central location with cable cars stop at hotel entrance. It's an old hotel but bedroom compact but very clean and the location was good as it was adjacent to Union Square. shops , restaurants and movie theatre all on doorstep.

We stayed in the Cow Hollow Motor Inn. Comfortable and relatively budget. Also has free car parking, which is useful as parking in San Francisco is expensive.

It's on the western end of Lombard Street.

Personally I would stay in Fisherman's wharf unless you have to pay for car parking.

We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express which is next to the main Holiday Inn and you can use their pool if you wish. We also looked at the Zepher Hotel which was just up the road.

We stayed there too, and would definitely stay there again. Brilliant for parking, an easy walk to get to the sea front, and we had a really big room right opposite Mel’s Diner 😎

We did have the zephyr booked for this summer but changed as we got a good deal at the Riu plaza. It’s all been cancelled now but we be looking at those 2 hotels when we rearrange for next August.

We stayed at The Tuscan which is now called Hotel Zoe. It’s a good location in Fisherman’s Wharf.
