Schools INSET day Monday 6th June

Mine are both Surrey schools one primary one secondary and both back tomorrow. Most of the schools around here including DS's had an inset day the Friday before half term. My daughters secondary only do 3 half day insets but have 7 weeks off in summer!

My youngest has an inset day tomorrow and we are in Kent

I'm in Hillingdon so just up the road, I don't think there's many schools round here on inset days, my kids are back tomorrow

My kids school had an inset day, the teachers went geocaching,now as much as I like geocaching, don't think them doing it at the expense of people having to take days off or childcare costs is very good, my wife is a Primary school teacher so she would probly disagree lol

My understanding is that inset days are on days that would be school holidays anyway. Ie it is the teachers that sacrifice their holiday to do training, rather than being an extra day that parents have to cover. I'm not a teacher by the way.

Nope, normally instead of their first day back

We are in Hertfordshire and mine are at two different schools and both off until Wednesday .

Inset days are taken out of the teachers school holiday period, they do not affect the amount of time kids are in school.
