I'm looking at the US Universal site and also BA. Since I have flights and airport hotel booked with BA I'n looking at adding a Universal hotel. Free cancellation on US site is for arrivals up to 31st August. I'm due to go 13th September so need to check the Ts and Cs.

I always book directly with Loews.

loewshotels/universal-orlando

They take one nights deposit at time of booking but it is refundable. The rest is paid when you check out.

We always book direct, usually with AP discount which makes the rates very favourable and can be applied retrospectively.

Hi

Would this mean we could book AP rates and settle the balance when we arrive? We want to upgrade to AP when we get there but didnt knowing we can book AP rates without actually having the AP.

As long as you have them when you pay the bill, yes you can.

How much is the going rate for 1 night in a deluxe. I’ve just looked on hotels.com and it’s about £700 for 1 night! Is that the going rate? Thanks

No I have never seen a Universal hotel cost that much. It does vary over the course of a year, I had a booking for December and that was $335 per night which I thought was reasonable. I have spent a bit more and a bit less on other occasions.

Same hear with booking direct and the above been the average sort of rate. We’ve had a kids suite at the HRH which was more best value for us was a deluxe room which was 500sqft for not much more than a normal room

Just had a look for Christmas this year and it’s at $600 per night I’ve never seen it this high so I’m wondering if they think there will be reduced occupancy - if this is the standard rate for Christmas then I might have to rethink our plans (the family think we are cancelling Christmas as we have made another booking for August next year but I was thinking of a universal trip as a surprise)
