Thankful for this glorious weather

I can’t honestly think of more than two or three days during lockdown when we haven’t sat out in the sunshine.
We have never had a March , April and May like this one that I can remember . Least we will feel we had a summer ,
I kept thinking it’s July not May !

Many things may be wrong just now but our weather has been (quite literally) a ray of sunshine.
I am in SW Scotland with views over to the Lake District Fells, unfortunately they seem very far away just now.

The weather has been a boost.

We lived in Scotland for 18 years, when the sun is shining there are few places in the World that can match it. Wide open spaces, nowhere is crowded. We we astounded the first time we went to Loch Lomond in 2001 at Easter. If it was in England it would have been overrun and the queue to get there would start in Glasgow. Nope, no traffic, plenty of parking, loads of room for everyone.

The weather has been glorious in the Isle of Man too, and it has definitely made the Covid-19 restrictions easier to bear, both for getting our exercise and sitting in the garden.

I can't see us getting away this year and I've got 23 days of leave to use (we're being allowed to carry over 5 days), so I took Friday and today just because. I've got nothing planned other than pottering around the house and in the garden beats frantically trying to use my days up on dreary days in November/December.
