Off subject but we went with Hertz in December. Not impressed! They tried the hard sell- I just kept saying we have everything covered, still persisted.
On leaving garage told them we had bought VisitorToll Pass so wouldn’t be needing theirs.
About 2 weeks after we returned home got a bill from Hertz ?$14 for tolls! 😩.
Much prefer Alamo but it’s with Virgin.

This sounds like the toll didn't pick up the visitor toll pass, so instead charged by plate. This would not be Hertz fault, if they had added the toll package, it would have been a lot more that $14

I was given confirmation what the car and bat number snd told to go straight there.

When we walked past the Hertz booth in the garage my name was on the board, though not listed as a Gold member, it had Virgin Atlantic next to it.

Still, we skipped the counter, it was brilliant and would do it again if it’s still a thing.
Ah I did all of this in September and it didn’t give me the choice to go straight to garage.. maybe it’s better now.

I will see how it pans out in 37 days time 🤙🏻

We flew VH on 28th October last year. Hertz sent us an online booking reference well in advance for both cars and we were able to check in online 7 days before departure. They allocated us the cars, and we had an email on the morning of our flight advising what spaces they would be in.
Straight off the plane over to the garage and away.

One of our cars did break down 2 days into the holiday but we were told to leave it where it was and go back to the airport and pick up another. No hassle, the manager there was great and sorted us out without quibble.

We had a statement from visitor toll pass with charges on?

But did it have the one hertz charged you for?

That’s the potential issue with the VTP. It can not work sometimes (very rare), so then the toll will be charged to the supplier (hertz) who pass it on to you.

You rejected hertz’s all inclusive toll pass (as everyone should). Telling them you have the VTP means nothing. Going through a toll not picked up by the VTP would then enact hertz’s toll by plate policy, which I think is something like 9.99 per usage day plus the toll.
