I remember them all, although the 78 records were no longer being made when I was a child, but a lot of grown ups still had them. We used to melt them and make fruit bowls etc.

We never had a slot meter but my best friend’s mum did. We used to have great fun when all the lights went out in the dark evenings.
I remember hunting for empty pop bottles on the way home from school so we could claim the deposits to buy sweets.
Happy days indeed.

We had number nine... if there was money you had leccy if you didn’t then you sat in the dark...

Number 2 was what led to me being expelled from School!

Once I found out I could make quite a bit of money doing the bins for pop bottles on bin day I stopped going to School on a Tuesday

I then extended my 'collection route' to another suburb so didn't go on a Wednesday either.

It all went downhill from there until I got told not to come back.
