Feeling useless - scary experience

All is good now and everyone is safe and well, but earlier this week my 13 year old DD took a small overdose.

Luckily she realised the enormity of what she had done before she took too many and messaged her friend who persuaded her to come to us for help

Called 999 and they were amazing and ambulance came and then to hospital. It was heartbreaking hearing her tell the nurses she didn�t want to feel sad anymore. It all came down to a group of friends bullying at school and then with lockdown it all became too much. I just wished I had noticed and she could have come to me before, but sat at hospital I felt so useless that I couldn�t have stopped her going through this.

School have been brilliant - fingers crossed she carries on talking and not bottling things up.

My goodness what a shock for you. Glad your daughter is on the mend and I hope she continues to get the support she needs and the bullies are stopped x

Thank goodness she contacted her friend. It must have been a real shock, kids are very good at hiding things. Now that everything is out in the open, I hope she gets the help she needs.

Im so sorry, your poor daughter. I have a nearly 13 year old and a nearly 15 year old and luckily they have had no issues, but I have friends with kids the same age as my eldest and the bullying they have faced is outrageous. I hope you can all get the support you need going forward, take care xx

It�s hard to believe how horrible bullies can be and I feel very lucky that the outcome was what it was
