I’d probably burn the house down with a chip pan as I’m so clumsy!

I also want something I can shove in the utility because of the smell, but the hob is in the kitchen.

We have a Sage deep fat fryer, it is really good and has some pre-set options like twice cooked chips. It is easy to clean because the pan part detaches completely from the element so it can go in the dishwasher. I have just looked online and it seems hard to find now, we have had ours about three or four years.

i just use my cast iron dutch oven. gives it great heat retention.

then when youre done frying, pour the oil through a fine wire mesh strainer into a large pyrex jug, then decant into a bottle for storage to use next time

We have an Air Fryer and a deep fat fryer, it's just a cheap cookworks one, but it does the job. I only use it every now and then as a treat when doing burger and homemade chips, or I make homemade buttermilk chicken bits/nuggets and halloumi fries are the new in thing with my lot.
