Was expecting 300 ish and they were coming up at £550 for two weeks for a compact and at that price it was going to be Uber’s for us.

However, went through and I have absolutely no idea why, but a 50% off option came up meaning we got the car for £270 for two weeks in August. Don’t know what I did or how I did it but we’ve had the confirmation email showing the £270 cost so presume we are good to go.

Like I said, no promo codes or anything. It literally asked me to tick a box which I did and it took 50% off. Went back after and it had changed from 50% to 10% so don’t know if a glitch but I’ll have it 👍🏻
Could you tell us which website you used?

Thanks

Thanks everyone, and Andy especially. We don't have plans to go next year, but was trying to gage an idea on prices and it just seems so expensive compared to previous years but I think it's hard to know what to expect because of the current climate and downturn in business.

If you think that's a big jump! For 2020 I had a full size SUV booked with Alamo for 12 days in July £454. For exactly the same vehicle, exactly the same dates and exactly the same company for 2021 its just over £1300.

I have now got 4 bookings sorted for 2021. All of them cheaper than what I would have paid if we hadn’t even cancelled in 2020.

It’s all down to researching and chopping and changing. I show loyalty to nobody.

Trouble is, we always book a fly drive with BA so are pretty stuck with their suppliers.

We were looking at a flydrive with BA but its actually cheaper to get flights and hotel with BA and get the car from Costco. The SUV in 2021 with Costco is cheaper than it was for our cancelled 2020 dates.

Booked a standard SUV via Alamo Brits last week for £509, checked just now and same dates, same class is now £244 more. What on earth is going on with car rental prices this year? never paid in the £700’s before
