Weight loss injections or gastric band

I’ve always struggled with my weight and a few years back was diagnosed with a binge/bulimia eating disorder. I hit the menopause in the last couple of years and have gone from a size 10 to a 16. I’m continually battling with all this and I’m desperate to be back where I was. My oldest son gets married next year and I refuse to be a fat and frumpy mother.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about the options of losing weight either by a gastric band or weight loss injections and wonder if anyone here has done either of these and what your results were?
Thanks

I had a gastric band fitted in October. Have lost 4 stone (but gained 5lbs during lockdown) - just had a fill so hoping the loss will restart.

Would you be willing to share your experience with it in more detail, here or privately please?

I had injections years ago when it was a very trendy thing to do (private doctor in London) and it didn't work for me. I'm guessing these are different though.
I also had appetite suppressants called apesate which did work by sending you hyper. I amtoo much of a coward for a band although I have been following someone who has done brilliantly.
Off to Google injections.

Of course. I really struggled with losing weight due to medication and illness. The band was my preferred option for weightloss surgery as I have colitis. I’ve found it really easy to work with to be honest. I can eat most things in moderation and don’t tend to snack like I used to. The band fills will help me to feel fuller sooner as over time your stomach does get used to it being in. In terms of living with it daily it’s no problem. When flying the saline needs to be removed and you cannot eat solids 12 hours either side of the flight (I did about 4 hours after landing in the states And had no issues). Bread Is basically a no-no. I can eat wraps and will occasionally have a burger bun or croissant but tend to avoid having it very often (although I still eat thin based pizza) It’s all about training yourself to eat slowly and chew well as otherwise you can get a blockage and that’s horrible! I’ve only had one a couple of times and it’s something I don’t wish to repeat!

Any questions feel free to message me.

My friend had a gastric bypass september last year, she is about 8 stone down now. She has eaten chocolate and it makes her ill, also alcohol makes her ill. She eats small portions like porridge pots and cuppa soups, yoghurts things like that. She has got to stop loosing weight now and bulk up her calories.

At size 16 I'm not sure you need anything so drastic. Weight loss is never easy but I don't thinks even a gastric band is a magic fix.
What have you tried so far? I'm sorry to hear you're struggling.

I used these for 3 months, initially the first month lost 10 plus pounds then nothing.
£500 per month, not cheap, hated injecting myself every day.
It completely knocks your appetite and I struggled to eat anything as you feel full after a couple of mouthfuls.
I wasn’t eating enough and I felt sick all the time, banging headache.
Obviously not suited for me.
