Sad post

I have known our upstairs neighbour for well over 30 years we got on really well. He was married to a lovely lady called June who sadly died last year. He was unwell in himself my partner world put his rubbish out as he found it hard to make the stairs most days he world leave some for the past 3 days there was nothing we stated to think there was something bad had happened. Last night his daughter came up with her husband and knocked on his door there was no answer so they got the police to come and brake in unfortunately he was found dead on the floor my heart felt sympathy go to all his family. I will add to all you good people please stay in touch withyour family’s and close friends as you never know when things will happen stay safe and stay in touch

Thank you

Kevin. Such a sad situation. Firstly to die alone but secondly not to be found for a few days.

Sadly as society breaks down further this is becoming an ever more common occurrence.

We moved into this Cul de Sac back in 1986. No Children and we were the youngest by a Mile

A Guy opposite us was in his mid 90's and I thought he was Lloyd George as he was the spit of him

As the years went by I ended up holding the keys for 5 houses and looked out for the residents and did their mail daily when they went on trips.

Roll on 34 years and we are now the oldest and are surrounded by young families with children. I am dreading the day when somebody asks do I want to let them have keys so they can check on me.

My granddaughter works in a pub, she noticed one of their regulars hadn't been in. She tried phoning and when lockdown kicked in she tried to find out where he lived, to no avail. In the end she paid online for the address. After banging on the door and questioning neighbours she called the police. Sadly he was found dead in bed, my granddaughter was distraught that she hadn't got there sooner.
So sad.
