I've read lost on this (very) long thread and found it useful, however I have a few questions (which may have already been answered. Hopefully my questions and answers will be of help to other people to.

First, a bit about me. I'm 58, male, weigh 17st, am 5'5" and have been overweight for about 25 years, seriously so for around 15 years.

I've decided to go down the Mounjaro route in the hope of losing weight - how much I've no idea. Probably going to order from MedExpress as the have the best 1st time deal at the moment.

I will be starting on the 2.5 pen and will play it by ear when to increase my doses. When do people feel that they need to increase?

I've read that you can get 5 or 6 doses from a pen, how do I do this and do I need to buy extra needles?

I will be going to Florida and a few months time and would like to enjoy the food out there, but am worried that I won't be able to eat much (sounds odd typing this). Can I stop taking the Mounjaro a few weeks before travel and then resume on my return?

When you are happy with your weightloss, do you just stop taking the medication, or do you need to 'wind down'?

How do people answer the question 'Are you losing weight', 'how are you dong it' etc?

Undoubtedly more questions to come!

thanks
Hi and welcome.
Research shows that filtrating down during maintenance gives the best outcome for long term loss.
Pens come with enough spare to prime the pen - usually enough for a fifth dose. Google magic or fifth dose as we are not allowed to discuss on here sorry.
This site will give you most providers prices including discounts - you can change provider each month if you want - you will just need to go through the questions/photos etc each time.

Has anyone tried any non prescription anti sickness tablets? I’ve been having a hard time with nausea and vomiting, I thought it had passed but I can’t even keep water down today. Just trying to keep costs down and try something cheaper before I order the prescription tablets you can get!

Hope you feeling better.
Ive not actually been sick but feel really nauseous still and can’t sleep. Feels like I have a huge lump in my throat. Can’t sleep. Rapid changes from being hot and then really cold. Feeling that this isn’t right for me.

Morning everyone
Just thinking about my first dose tomorrow, I’ll admit I haven’t read through the leaflet in full detail but do you have a preference re when to inject, ie morning, afternoon or evening?
Been reading about stomach v thigh but will stick with thigh I think due to mainly using my stomach for insulin pump cannulas.

My own preference was on a Friday after work so that if I got any side effects they would hopefully be overnight or at least over the weekend. Now 16 jabs in I’m taking Wednesday but in the evening still. I’ve had almost no side effects other than mild nausea which passes quickly. You can play around a little with days so I would choose a day when you don’t have plans to start and see how you go. Good luck.

2nd week of 7.5mg and I’ve got no hunger at all. Cannot face any food. Thinking of going back down to 5mg for my next one.

Has anyone done this? ☺️
