KSC Mega Tour

I would quite like to go on this. Does it take all day and leave no time for Atlantis and Saturn V. Also would a wife (who is more interested in shopping) and a 5 year old be ok on it. Thanks

The mega tour lasts for over 2 hrs (from leaving visitor centre to dropping you off at Saturn V building)

Book the 1230 and get there for opening. This will give you time for Atlantis before the tour.

Personally I leave the family behind to have a pool day and head down alone. I think it's a long boring day for a 5 yo.

We took our then 4 yr olds on the up close tour, which was shorter - saw the Shuttle on launch pad 39 - and they were interested, but weren't overly enthusiastic, even though they loved the centre in general. They do give the kids a Kennedy colouring book and crayons on the coach, but the tours are not geared towards kids. This tour is even more up close, so really does depend on how much interest you think they may have... It's not that cheap if they would be bored.

We did the 10:30 mega tour this year, which gave us chance to do Angry Birds first, got to Saturn V around 1pm in time for lunch at the restaurant and a quick tour to get back to Atlantis for 2pm... There was lots we didn't do as we just didn't have time. If you want to see more of Saturn V centre, you may be better opting for the later 12:30 tour.

If you have doubts that your family really wouldn't enjoy it, they may be able to meet you at the Saturn V centre. There are quite a few play exhibits for the kids, Angry Birds, IMAX films plus some good, if Space themed, shops that could keep them occupied for a few hours.

For a space nut, the tour is excellent and not something that will be available for ever.

Just done the 12 Mega Tour. Brilliant and we were dropped off at the Saturn V centre at 3pm. We didnt get back to the main complex until nearly 4 even though we basically walked through and out. Luckily we had arrived at 9.30 so we had chance to spend a couple of hours with Atlantis. Great day went very quickly.
