Magical Express query

We are connecting this year from JFK so will clear customs in new york before flying down to Orlando.

Does this mean that if we book DME we will get to transfer the bags direct to our resort or will we need to collect them again from MCO?

I'm doing much the same but transferring from Newark not JFK. I was told because it's not a direct flight from the UK I will need to collect my bags at MCO from whichever carousel it comes on to and transfer them to carousel 1. I'm a little clueless as it's my first time going but I've booked the Magical Express already and the confirmation has a lot of details on it so either that or i'll collect my bags and take them to the bus..

I,d collect my bags anyway before getting on the magic express, as it can take hours for Disney to get the bags to your room otherwise.

We'll be booking internal flights from NYC as we are having 5 nights there first. Does this mean we won't need to collect our bags?
