Mobile Center Parcs - Whinfell - which area?

We've never been to Center Parcs and we're thinking of trying it out for a midweek break in January.

I noticed when going through the booking process you can select a specific lodge/area. At an extra £55 for the central area it's a little bit pricey.

Does anyone not pay and if so what area do you end up in? Or is it just better to take the hit and pay for peace of mind?

Any info would be much appreciated

Di

We pay as we like to choose a particular lodge/area- it really depends on how often you want to use the pool/sports bar areas as some lodges are a 10 minute walk away.

Central really is close to these areas and is handy for parents of small children but on the other hand it is quite nice to walk through the trees if you do decide to be farther away.

We like the Seven pines area😄

We paid as we always have young children in our group. However last trip we booked late and we were as far away as we could be in three oaks in one of the exclusive lodges and it was only a 15 min walk.

Never pay, even on the edges of the village it's never more than 15 ish minutes walk from the centre.

We pay. We like Badger Wood. Think 21ish falls in middle area so slightly cheaper. Last time £40 maybe.
It's next to the pub. 5 mins to the pool and about 8 mins to the sports plaza.
Really does depend on what your plans are and what level of lodge your going for.
Let me know if I can help more. We're regulars and go often.

We are now thinking of going with my parents so paying for a lodge is more likely. Possibly going to go for a detached 3 bed new exec lodge. Any thoughts on this type of accommodation? Also some lodges have steps, does this mean a lot of steps are just a few? Last question, what is Meadow View like?

Thanks

We've chosen Beechwood. The same villa we had last time, as it was a perfect location for us, and worth the extra cost. Make sure you check the prices of all the villa sizes before booking as it was cheaper for us to book a 3 bed than a 2 bed one.

we have been to Whinfell 21 times! and due to go back in December.

I agree with the others that unless you have people with mobility issues then enjoy the scenery as you walk
We have stayed in all areas now I'm sure! We normally have a 4 bed detached games lodge in Meadow view these days.

We love Meadow View, Fell View, these are scenic as the names suggest. We never normally pay extra for choice, I wouldn't bother paying extra in January as the outside garden bit won't be as important as in summer to sit out in etc
