We had the same question sitting with an empty fuel tank, the petrol attendant looked at me like i was a lunatic when i asked what fuel i should put in, it never said anywhere in the car or on the paperwork, i took a chance and put in regular gas, it was the correct guess but i made very sure to ask at the hire company the following year, i feel your pain

i also never use cards (for anything in fact) for this reason, once you've been cloned in the past you never recover hehe

i think most if not all are gas (petrol)

look at the rev counter dose it go to 7-8000 rpm if it dose its petrol (gas)

only up to 6000 and sounds noisy at start up its diesel

we had the same problem in 2012
what we did was put say 2 gallons of petrol in when it got to 1/4 full and tried it
it ran ok so stuck with gas the cheap stuff

That is wrong for USA usually green cap for Diesel.
See keloland/news/article...olor-confusion

However some gas stations have Green pump nozzles green for petrol. Confusing? Yes

*edit*
also, in 10 years of going to florida and almost always paying for fuel on plastic, i've never had my card cloned...

I thought this was the glowplug light. I've only owned one diesel car, but I was told to wait for this to go off before starting the engine.
